Summary
- The voice of disc golf in Vancouver.
- This individual will be working with our warmed up contacts in Vancouver Parks and help facilitate the growth of the sport.
- This role has massive potential to change the disc golf landscape in Vancouver.
- This individual will be supported by a team of 3 advisors who specialize in public relations.
- 2 year commitment
- Will be reporting directly to the President of VanCity Disc Golf

- Social, business and account management skills
- Passion to make a large change to help spread love and positivity.
- Ability to reach out to people and build relationships quickly
- Ability to listen to what staff wants first
- Know how to make it easy for people to talk and work with you.
- Comfort with following up when conversations fade
- Know how to find win-win solutions for both parties
- Patience and gratefulness
Role Responsibilities
- Educating and engaging respective staff and commissioners on why we should be growing disc golf together.
- Improving relations between all Vancouver Parks staff from all departments (Recreation, Golf, Financial Services, Parks, etc)
- Staying educated on all parks board activities and updates
- Building report with Vancouver Parks Commissioners
- Keeping PB in the loop of current projects through internal newsletter
- Posting on VanCity Disc Golf social media to keep community educated and mobilized
- Engaging with local media to bring disc golf to public’s eye
Role Requirements
- You create your own schedule
- Between 1 – 5 hours per week
- Requires ability to have call/meetings during work hours
Current Projects
- Maintenance of Queen E and Quilchena
- Upgrades to Queen E and Quilchena (Washroom, signage, etc)
- Expansion of Queen E course
- Redesign of Quilchena Course
- Pop Up Courses at Pitch and Putt golf courses
- Advocate for a new course
