Bag Tag rounds (commonly referred to as Tag rounds) are a staple of the disc golf community and a fun way to get to know others in the club and challenge each other to improve your skills. Tags are meant to be displayed on your bag and are engraved with a number that represents your rank within the bag tag structure. Bag tags are available for Tier 3 VCU members, however participating in this event is open to all VCU members.

At the beginning of each Tag round, all attending players turn in their tags and round fees to the Tag round host. Cards of 3 – 5 players will be decided by a random flip, which gives players the opportunity to meet and play with new people. After the round is played and scores are submitted, betting players participate in a last-one-standing putting competition, with a payout of $10 to the winner. Tags are then redistributed based on round score, with the best score receiving the lowest available tag, second best score receiving the second lowest available tag, and so on. Ties are broken using the tying players' previous tag. Cash prizes are distributed to the betting players with the top scores of the round, with the best score receiving the biggest cash prize, and so on. The number of cash prizes available is determined by the number of people who bet on the round. Usually between 3 – 5 people are paid out in this format.
